This existing ranch home was extensively renovated to accommodate a growing family and take advantage of views of this beautiful wooded lot in Forest Hills. The old ranch foundation remained the heart of the home. The low sloping roof of the original house was removed. A new, steeper pitched roof was designed to allow for a double height space with ample natural light through high dormer windows on both sides of the two story volume. An addition provides comfortable private spaces for both the parents and children, while improving the functionality of the home. The new design provides more day-lighting and connections to the exterior, and the interior flow of the spaces accommodates the way the owners are accustomed to living as a family.
