GREYSTONE RESIDENCE

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE

For this family of five, the kitchen is the center of activity in the house – a place to do homework, connect, and share meals. Studio Eight Design worked closely with the interior designer, landscape architect, and contractor to develop a design that reimagined this hub of the house.

The renovated space includes a family entry and mud room connected to a spacious kitchen and laundry area. A private office just off the kitchen offers the mother a quiet work space while staying in touch with what’s happening in the rest of the house. A large screen porch with a fireplace was added to better connect the existing house to the views of their spacious back yard.

To help the homeowners visualize their addition, S8D provided three dimensional views of the addition and worked with contractor to stake out the location of the structure.

The design team worked closely with the City of Belle Meade to meet the City’s zoning ordinance without filing for a variance.
