Incorporating the owner’s vision of an Asian influenced restaurant in a 1920s bungalow provided a challenge to the design team. Located on Belcourt Avenue in Nashville, the property is within an historic zoning overlay, which required a separate approval process. Walls were removed from the first floor interior and slender steel columns with natural wood beams were added to provide a more open, contemporary dining space with a clear view of the sushi bar along the back wall. Sustainable materials are used throughout to reinforce the clean, Asian influence.
