Metro Water Route Services Building

Nashville, Tennessee

Located on County Hospital Road, two new structures for Route Services and Stormwater Management provide updated facilities and more functional shop and storage space for the daily operations for the two Metro departments.  The project required close coordination and communication with Metro Water and the design-build team led by Olympian to carefully create structures that are functional, sustainable, and budget conscious. Studio Eight Design worked with Metro Water staff to determine the programmatic functions and adjacencies required to facilitate the daily Route Services operations. Frequent collaboration occurred between the design-build team members and Metro Water to continually track the design with the budget and LEED Certification.  The project achieved LEED Gold surpassing the project goal of LEED Silver Certification.  Being a water department, special emphasis was assigned to the incorporation of water efficiency within the plumbing and HVAC design of the building.
